Humanity stands at a pivotal crossroads, where our unparalleled technological advancements require careful navigation guided by collective morality to ensure a sustainable future.
Thank you for Being You! I’m always impressed and grateful to see a young man of your generation - embrace and understand « Who You Really Are » other than those who view their Life as an opportunity to take take take from this Earth & World without a care of how it is left behind after their fragile existence fades to nothingness.....#legacy is worth talking about and must continue to be expressed to our Millenials and youth.
I vote that anytime we get to looking to psychology and animal testing to define the nature of man we turn away and look to the spirit that we have been and are and will be. Use the spirit that you are to help others and you are on your way.
I think we're all after the same thing. I'm talking about all of us who conscientiously strive to be the best version of ourselves.
I think the best of human doing follows the best of human being. What??
How.
OK, a good moral model, by being a good moral model, promotes the good moral human doing since loving kindness is contagious.
A follow-up of the Milgram experiments, which showed that most of us can be arbitrarily cruel when following authorities, later revealed an antidote to this inhuman tendency.
If the next test subject saw one example of a person refusing to be cruel, they were much more likely to refuse to be cruel.
And.
People say things like, "I saw what you did. That was cool." --when they see acts of kindness.
Qualified?
Qualified to be human?
A young man sitting across from me on a bus I was on seemed verbally, socially, and physically awkward, possibly disabled in some way. I had muttered out loud wondering where my stop was.
The young man looked at our surroundings, determined to be helpful if possible, and blurted out, "There it is! This is your stop!" He pulled the string that rang a bell, indicating, "Next stop, please." Then, he assured me that this was the stop I was talking about, he was certain.
In the same way that I was a rescued starfish then, I am a human now. In fact, I am humanity, now that I think about it. No more, no less significant than any other member of the human race.
My mental image of what counts as "humanity" works like this:
A bumblebee, flying high, sees an orchard below. Coming down, he sees individual trees, then individual apples on a tree.
Landing on an apple, the bumblebee has, just as significantly, landed on a tree, landed on an orchard, landed on a farm, landed on the planet earth.
Each of these labels can be truthfully used to identify what the bumblebee landed on. We are human, therefore we are humanity. Let's aim up.

Be blessed and be well, Rain.
